Russ Adams, Executive Director
810-664-2927 ext 301 | radams@LCEMS.org
Russ Adams came to LCEMS in February of 2017 as the Operations Manager and later transitioned to Executive Director in February of 2018. Russ brings more than just a business degree and 25 plus years of municipal emergency service experience to our team. He is a passionate speaker, teacher, and leader - a paramedic for nearly 25 years, a recognized subject matter expert, and an instructor coordinator. As an AHA and ASHI; BLS, ACLS, First Aid, CPR and AED instructor he has taught in hospitals, college programs, industrial facilities, suburban and rural municipal departments, and community organizations. As a writer and instructor, he was intimately involved with the MI-Medic Card implementation in Michigan.
Russ is an advocate for children and vulnerable adults presenting both as an instructor via webcast, and in person about the nuances of Mandated Reporting laws in EMS. His efforts have resulted in changes to operational protocols and instructional modules throughout the state. Russ resides in Lapeer with his wife, (Michelle), of 32 years and three of his six children still young enough to live at home.
“I believe EMS is an essential public safety service, along with police and fire protection. It has been said, ‘You shouldn’t survive a heart attack…because you live in the right zip code!’ I am honored to direct an organization focused on the emergency medical needs of the community, not for the profits of business.” Russ Adams, Executive Director
